The Channeled Scablands

Imagine, nearly 15,000 years ago, where Idaho & Montana meet, a massive ice dam at the end of glacial Lake Missoula collapses.  The Lake empties in a massive flood, sometimes 800 feet high at times, across the future eastern Washington State. The water was enough to fill all the rivers on earth, ten times.   Repeated floods cycles over thouseands of years, created giant coulees, potholes, and riffled channels carved straight out of hard basalt bedrock. It is much more easily seen by air where the shapes begin to reveal themselves.
